Exploring Diversity

Diversity is what makes somebody different from the rest, is what differentiates you from the rest of the world, is what makes you special and gives you an advantage in the relations with the others. Diversity consist in a group of characteristics that makes everybody unique, it includes the gender, race, the language, the religious beliefs, and other characteristics that differentiates you from the other.

These differences makes the people special and important for develop different jobs and tasks inside a society. Could you imagine a society where everybody is he same? I don’t because are those differences which makes the society works, there may be an engineer for making a building but there may be a constructor that can apply all the engineer’s thoughts, also there may be a president that manages a country but there may be civilians that follows the rules and be the society.

It is impossible to conceive a society where everybody is the same because if so, you will find a lot of specialist in a field but you won’t find people for doing other kind of jobs so that specific society will collapse.

The globalization is a process that intensified even more the diversity; it brings people, technology and other factors from a country to another and it increases the international relations between countries and between people. For this reason it is important to understand the differences of all people you must relate with, you should be open minded, and flexible in order to be able to develop better relations with others and to be more competitive in the relations field of the nowadays world.

It is important to understand the differences in order to facilitate a close up with the others. Extensive behavioral science research demonstrates that, in dealing with individuals or small groups, behavior can be effectively understood and predicted only by assessing individuals or groups themselves, taking into account the full range of their specific characteristics and contexts. (Gilovich, Keltner & Nisbett, 2006).

Answer

The process of integration of the European Union consist in the creation of a union in which the member states have some privileges such as monetary identity, some policies for trade and labor preferences, but also they have to give some sovereignty to the union.

This union is conformed by some of the European states and tries to make the continent more competitive in the nowadays world. The member states are gaining a lot of benefices but are losing some rights and one of those is the diversity. The member states are losing their identity and the people is looking more similar each other. Every time the people is wearing the same cloths, eating the same food, and having the same beliefs; even the language is becoming one universal and some dialects are condemned to disappear.

But this is not a matter only of the European process of union, it is a worldwide phenomenon that is occurring as much in all the corners of the world as in the European countries, it is a normal process of integration in the world. There are some exclusions for countries such as Cuba or North Korea that are closed countries in where the culture and the diversity is preserved by strict rules of the government.

This European and worldwide integration takes to a loose of diversity but also let the people to understand other cultures and take the good things and adapt them to the national culture. It will take us into an end of a worldwide culture made by a mixture of the aspects of all the societies.
